Having recorded a 2-16 to 0-9 win over Laois under lights in O'Moore park the previous Saturday, Louth made it 2 wins from 2 in the National League Division 3 with a gutsy 0-11 to 0-10 win over Longford in Drogheda on Sunday 12th February. The game ended in controversy as Monaghan referee Niall McKenna blew the whistle a minute early. It later transpired that he had indicated 3 (not the 4 that was announced) minutes at the end of the second half.
